Our software is driven by an SQL databse. This format of database is very clean and reliable. Having this incorporated into our software, we can store huge amounts of data within a small space on a hard drive. Installation and configuration is built into the default installation of the Keytracker software - all necessary software and components are installed automatically.

As This version of the SQL database is widely used and developed upon, we contantly seek out updates to further improve the reliability of the Keytracker database. We are proud to have this format of database incorporated, as it is boasted to be one of the very best. We can happily say that MSSQL and MSDE have not let us down.

Our latest version of the Keytracker software (Version 1.6.4) has a cut down version of SQL server called MSDE (MicroSoft Development Environment). Currently, that version of MSDE (Version 2000) does not operate under Windows Vista. FOr VIsta machine, during installation, you need to skip installation of MSDE, where you will then be able to install SQL Express 2005, which will operate on Vista and Windows 7.
